Hello Wegsgirl,

There was an advert in the Times newspaper on Tuesday 7th January 1913 about the Roscommon sailing to Australia:-
Queensland Ports
Thursday Island,  Cairns,  Townsville, Rockhampton,  Brisbane.
Roscommon     7381 tons    January 22         Perthshire     5881 tons      March 19
Durham            5760 tons    February 19       Waipara         6393 tons     April 16

On Friday 21st March 1913, the Times reported:-
Roscommon from London arrived Brisbane Wednesday.

An article on Thursday 17th April 1193 may also be of interest:-
It is stated in Fairplay that the Union Steamship Company of New Zealand has bought from the New Zealand Shipping Company (Limited) the steamers Limerick, Roscommon, Tyrone and Westmeath which that company acquired from the Houlder Line about a year ago. The Union Company is maintaining the steamers in the trade between this country and the Colonies.

Thankyou LEIGHTON,  What a wonderful sea voyage my past family would have had .May I ask how did you get this information from the newspaper?  I have searched so many sites and come up with nothing., but must say the computer and I  do not know each other very well. Wegsgirl

Wegsgirl
My local library has internet access to the Times archive. I could send you a pdf of the relevant page if you want.
