Hi georgersamuel,

He came from Prestonpans, and he drove a black car like an Austin 10 or similar. It was on the go when I was at school at Preston Lodge around 1960 -1964. Was his name not George?

It could possibly be ! The name i was given by a relative was Jocky Samuel from Prestonpans who either him or his father drove a taxi in the Pans, two of his decendants were also school teachers in the Tranent / ormiston area .

I am just trying to find if anyone has any info or links etc to this ?

Hi Georgesamuel,

I played with a Jock Samuel for Preston Lodge FP's back in the 70's, he could have been aschoolteacher. I think he was a teacher at Ross High in Tranent.

Hello Georgersamuel,

Prestonpans Library might have a trade directory for the period when the taxi company was in business ... www.eastlothian.gov.uk/content/0,1094,306,00.html
