ooh - looks like possibly a double wedding here:

Jan/Feb/Mar 1861
Newingtom reg distr

William H Raitt
Emma Raitt
John Flint
Elizabeth Leach

Now, I found William H with wifeElizabeth in 1861, just a month or two later in the census.
Looks like Emma married John Flint

.... but I cant find John and Emma Flint on the 1861 census to confirm

There is a marriage for a Martha Ann Raitt in 1903, in Mile End
Could be the eldest child of this family, but she would be about 70!   Havnet even found MArtha Ann in 1851,61 yet.

Moving on to 1871

Martha (senior) is now widowed.

Elizabeth Street,Newington

William Burdett 41
Martha A   "    39  wife
+large family
Martha Raitt  69  widow, lodger,   nurse, bn Norwich

I am just wondering if daughter MArtha Ann married Wm Burdett. I'll check that one out.

Seems like this was the family home - Elizabeth Street - cos that is where Wm was in 1861 when Martha was off nursing someone.

Really strange

mariage Ap/M/Jun 1856 Newington

William Benjamin Burdett
also on page Martha Ann Burdett ? ! ? !

that would need looking at, as I remember there was some sort of wife's step mum called Burdett with the Burdett family in 1861. I remember thinking it strange, 'cos I would have thought a Burdett would be the husbands mum/stepmum

and Martha senior

death
Jan/Feb/Mar 1878
St Saviour

I wonder if William and Martha senior had separated? They never seem to be together on any census.

I know I have got ver carried away on this one, but have enjoyed every minute.

Going back to your original post. If Louisa is an ancestor, then presumably you have details of a child of hers (your ggranparent). Have you got that person's birth cert?
If not that would be the best move, to confirm mother's maiden name. Presumably they had surname Bowers.
What was their name and d-o-b? Any siblings?
Who knows, we might find out more about Louisa that way!
