Nelson Talbot and Albina Smith, said to be gipsies, were charged with fighting at St. George's, on Sunday afternoon. Talbot did not appear.  defendants were fighting at about three o'clock on Sunday afternoon, and a crowd of 300 or so people were watching the men, who were stripped for the fight. Smith was bound over to keep the peace for six months, and a warrant was issued for the apprehension of Talbot

I was reading this below that said Johny Ancorn Smith was the oldest yet so i looked for a John Ancorn early 1800s it may not be what you are looking for, i try and see everything i find this way helps in the long run

ABSCONDED, JOHN ANCORN, supposed to be a native of Oxfordshire, aged  about Fifty Years, about 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, Rather a thin  flat cheek, sallow complexion, stoops, and walks generally slow and awkward ; when he went away he had on a blue coat and leather  breeches, is a labourer, and has every appearance of it. About twelve or thirteen years ago the said John Ancorn left a wife and large family chargeable to the parish of Aston Cantlow, Warwickshire, and was not  apprehended till about  two years since, when he was found at or near Oxford, since which time he has  buried his wife and remained with his children till Jantuary last, when he left them chargeable to the said parish of Aston Cantlow- the Overseers of which will pay a reward of FIVE GUINEAS, and all reasonable expenses to any person who shall apprehend the said John  Ancorn and give information thereof to Mr. Gibbs, Black- ford Mill, near Henley in Arden.

Jubal, thanks yes, he's on the 1851 census for Redditch, West Bromwich.

Am also wondering if the Ancona, Ancon name is not also Anchor? I actually have a distant cousin who has the Ankers name in their tree, married to the Carter surname.
