Hi
Can anyone help to explain R.A.R.E. Militia Popper??
found a relative in 1901 census (copy below) with these details as occupation. In the lodgeings were 6 other men described the same way. Could not find him on the 1891 census.
Were censuses taken for service personel? if yes where are they??

Hi,

I think there is an element of transcription error possible here.  ::)

R.A.R.E.  is not an abbreviation I can find anywhere.

Neither can I find the term 'Militia Popper'.

I will continue my search.  :D
