Hi All

First of all I am entirely new to this family tree searching and to make matters worse I come with very little information! I am trying to search back for my family on my fathers side. I do not have much information but know that he was from the Helmsdale area.

What I know!
Me: Robert Alexander Mackay (Born 1984 - Kirkcaldy)
Father: Robert Mackay (Born 1945 - Kildonan, Died 2008, Dunfermline.)
Fathers Siblings (John Mackay 1932 or 1934 unsure, Rosemary Macdonald Mackay (1941) Both alive but not in contact)

What I think I know based on a very patchy memory and what I have dug up online (Ancestry/Scotlandspeople). I have an odd memory my grans name was Grace and I know she lived the end of her life in Leslie House,Glenrothes where she passed away. I found this Grace which matches what I thought,

Grandfather: Alexander Mackay (I suspect Kildonan born and 1911?)
Grandmother: Grace MacDonald Manson (Then Mackay Married 1937 to Alexander Mackay) Born in Wick, Caithness 1912.

I have modified this post about 3 times as I have been stumbling upon answers. I am now convinced that all of the above are true. I will need to buy credits to check birth certificates of Grandmother (I am almost convinced I know the parents now) and Grandfather who I have no idea of Parents. 1911 Census just misses him.

Thank you for any info in advance.

Bob

Hi christmack, I saw your post re James Norman Nicholson Mackay and Margaret McKeon. They were my  great great grandparents. If there is anything you would like to know about them, please let me know, as I have been researching them for a few years now. {they are my maternal grandmother's paternal grandparents.}
Hope to hear from you,
Gail Steel  :)

ChristMac sorry for the 10 year delay! I moved to Canada and lost my email address, but have now restarted the research. Do you still have the photos you mentioned in your post of the Robert Mackay/Margaret Anne Mackay family please?
