metropolitan and city police orphans fund

I just want to thank the above organisation, and perhaps others may find a lead?........

i found my g-grandfather was in a police orphanage in the early 1900's and upon contacting the police orphans fund, i was overwhelmed with how helpful they have been.

they have sent me photocopies of school reports, admissions information, management meetings when my ancestors have been mentioned, and consequently i have found some very interesting new information to delve into.

my heartfelt thanks to the secretary there!

They do a fabulous job don't they?  

In response to a query I made a while back, regarding my great grandmother (pictured in my avatar), I received over 40 photocopied pages detailing her stay at the Met Police orphanage.

I'm glad you've had such a good experience, as well.
