Sarah Ann COX
« on: Monday 24 March 08 22:33 GMT (UK) »
For many years before I knew him, my late husband used to buy all sorts of stuff at auctions.
Sorting through his papers recently, I came across a Bible which doesn't belong to any part of our family, so I assume he bought it somewhere at auction.
All it has written in it is: Sarah Ann Cox.  Her book.  1838.
There are some dried leaves in it, and a couple of religious pamphlets, and a book mark
advertising Joseph Fisher, Draper. The Bee Hive, High Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, an agent for P. & P. Campbell. The Perth Dye Works.
If you think this belongs to your family please contact me.

i am very interested in the book mark that you found in the bible, I am afraid I have no idea who Sarah Ann Cox was but Joseph Fisher, Draper of High Street, Stratford on Avon was my Grandfather born in Quinton, Gloucestershire in 1855 established as a Draper in Stratford by about 1878 moved to Kineton in Warwickshire about 1902. I still live in the house in Kineton being the son of his youngest son by his second wife.

Hi,   I'm so sorry, I heard from no-one regarding the Bible, so when I moved house in 2010 I just put it into auction (in Banbury) with some other books.
What a pity, it would have been nice for you to have it.

Thanks for replying anyway.
Regards
