Hi Heywood

Looking at the census dates you have put up, looks like her age deviates about a lot ??? ??? ???. So anything is possible ;)

I am waiting for Plimmerian to come back now - am intrigued by the 'vocalist' as her daughter Anna E was also one. What kind of music did they sing please?
I can't find either of the Annas after 1881.

Something's not right here when none of us can trace her.

We need Plimmerians input.

I am leaning towards the one born 1814. Perhaps in her profession she needed to appear younger than she was. In the 1861 census, the only one with her husband, she is 3 yrs older than him. She then grows younger (if only) and then ages again.

There is no Anna Bexfield b 1814/5 on the 51 Norfolk census disk.

On the free bmd there are 2 Ann Bexfield marriages 1846 Norfolk as well as the Anna Bexfield in 1855 .Liverpool.

If it is the one born 1814 then she would be about 41 on her marriage

I had taken that into consideration, we need Plimmerian to tell us exactly whats on their marriage cert.

Sorry guys I have limited internet access - I couldn't get back any sooner!

Anna BEXFIELD, full age, spinster, dau of Thomas Bexfield, cabinet maker, living in Williamson Square, Liverpool
(I think, where a theatre in Liverpool was located, so she may have met my Edward while both performing there!)

Edward PLIMMER was living in Moorfields, Liverpool on the marriage cert.
He has been found listed as a professional musician, flutina player, organist, "negro artist" and a professor of music.

Later Anna and her daughter Anna Elizabeth, both found as "vocalists", appear
in Dennistoun, Glasgow after the 1881 census of Barnsley, Yorks.

Anna Elizabeth PLIMMER married James YUILL
(http://plimmerpastures.blogspot.com/2010/06/scottish-certificates.html)

NB:

Edward PLIMMER's father, is Edward PLIMMER, listed as a gardener.

Edward (the musician) brother, James, was a market gardener at Bonny Well, Leigh, Lancs - probably inherited from his father-in-law William LEIGH.
James' wife was Martha PLIMMER (nee LEIGH)

Edward PLIMMER (senior) lived at Bonny Well in 1851 but his main occupation had always been a coal miner.

(hope you got all that)

 :-\ ;)
