Hi again...

No i haven't got that far yet!! lol i hadn't thought much on Mary to be honest... i did think the age gap was odd. On  the 41 all that it says in the address bit is Chichester, St Pancras.

Regards

Not very helpful then as there is a parish and street of the same name :( ;D

Just found this burial

Mary Ann COLLICK 13 Mar 1840 Age 31y 'from North Street' buried Chichester St.Peter the Less

Possibly Mary's mum?? Worth holding on file - as you say not a very common name.

Also here are only Collick refs from 'Chichester: A Documentary History'

Needlemakers
1687/98 Abraham Collicke St Pancras
1727 Abraham Collicke St Pancras

Getting quite excited about this family (my own have ground to a halt in all directions at the moment :D)

Lol, I am grateful for your help and enthusiasm! i have so many brick walls i've lost count!!!

Mary Ann sounds like a possibility, she may have been Joseph jr's wife or a second wife to Joseph snr as you said!

Hi

No baptism for Susanna as yet but a few more bits and pieces from the available transcripts which will hopefully tie in.

Madehurst baptisms

1746 Jan 5 Colick Thomas son of Thomas and Susan
1750 Aug 25 Colick John son of Thomas and Susan
1752 Nov 27 Colick Eliz daughter of Thos and Susanna
1755 Mar 26 Colick Joseph son of Thomas and Susan

No other Collick baptisms I could see

Madehurst Marriage

1765 Jun 6 Susan Collick to John Apps of Slindon

No other marriages - seems likely to be a re-marriage for Susan

Madehurst Burials

1753 June 5 Colick Eliz inf

No earlier burials then no more until

1809 Sep 11 Collick Jane
1812 Apr 30 Collick Jane
1813 Feb 4 Collick Richard of Chichester 2yr 9m
1813 Apr 30 Collick John of Chichester  14
1818 May 4 Collick Thos of Chichester 28
1828 Feb 8 Collick George of Chichester 19
1836 Aug 21 Collick Charlotte of Chichester 14

Chichester so far

St Peter the Great (Subdeanery) Burials
1757 Feb 9 Colleck John
1760 Jan 28 Collick Thomas
1765 Jan 29 Collick Stephen

I notice there is an IGI extracted
Joseph Collick 30 SEP 1781       The Close, Chichester parents Joseph and Jane

I will check for any more entries for this couple and have a squint at the St Pancras microfilm at some point soon.

Wow that is great, you have been busy!
That looks like the generation further back... could be if the 1781 the close to Joseph and Jane (which i have found also) is the right one then the father Joseph could be the one born to Thomas and Susan in 1755.

Still need a marriage for my Joseph c1781.... hmmm...

Good stuff Jan!
Thank you

Hi

In case the Thomas buried in Chichester 1760 is husband of Susan there is this administration

Calendar of Administrations in the Consistory court of the Bishop of Chichester 1555-1800
Collick, Thomas, yeoman Vol7, p206 1760

And this will could be relevant too
Calendar of Wills in the Consistory Court of the Bishop of Chichester, 1482-1800
Collick, John, The Close of Cath. C., Chichester Vol40 p18 1757

The St Pancras transcripts go up to 1812 - all the Collicks there were  1600's and early 1700's. Happy to pick those up as well when I go back (hopefully next Tues). Also noticed a baptism on Pallots Baptism Index for Rd Collick parents Jos and Jane at Chichester Subdeanery in 1785 - so will dig in those transcripts too.

Re the marriages if you post for a Sussex Marriage index look-up I'm sure someone will do that for you.

Regards
Jan ;)
