You've probably already thought of this, but have you included the spelling Derby in your searches for Sarah Ann?

Yep but I must admit I haven't done it for a while - would be worth re-checking!

have you got a Moses Darby death in the interim ?

i think this maybe them in 1851 so that would rule out Sarah Price being your Sarah

did your Sarah have any children prior to marrying John Pearson i.e as a Darby that were perhaps with her in later census

have you found the births of the Pearson children listed under Pearson event he ones that were not mothered by Sarah

maybe if Sarah did have children prior to marrying John they took on the Pearson name.


 

Toni what you found for Moses rings bells - I agree I don't know why there seems to be one in Sheffield and one in Dudley - seems to me like maybe 2 fellows. I did search for a death for the Sheffield Moses DARBY but no sign so far.

The only PEARSON child that doesn't seem to be Sarah Ann's is William. I have Theresa's birth cert so it seems likely that the other younger ones are hers and John's also. I haven't found any other children prior to Theresa, no.

I don't know who or if William married. So I guess that could be him.

I don't think I have a copy of William and Lydia - maybe I've taken that down wrong - aaaargh! Will have a look and see what it should be!

Well his Dad was a brewer so that's quite likely!
