What Age at Death is This ???
« on: Friday 14 January 05 19:38 GMT (UK) »
Hi All,

I may have found one of my Relations as follows:

Deaths Jun 1902

Bateman  George Henry  3[41]  St. Albans  3a 364

I hope the age is 31 - might this mean that someone can't read it properly??

Save me buying the certificate if it is!!  ;D

Cheers

Keith

I think it means that it could be 31 or 34 and the transcriber couldn't read the record properly.

I've just taken a look on www.1837online.com for you and the original entry reads quite clearly aged 34 at death. The other details are correct.

Hi GreySquirrel,

GREAT - thanks for that - keep forgetting about 1837online - never seem to know enough details - but for things like this obviously I do !!!  ;)

Now to see if that makes any difference to my tree - but suppose he did not tell them his age from the grave!  ;D

Thanks Again  :-*
