Hello no I couldn't find Joseph in 1851 either but I will look again for him today ,I see he is in Kendal 1871 and 1881,Temperance Hall with his mother and father in law.and you said he died 1884,poor children ,and in 1861 he is with his dad onboard their schooner.

Elizabeth Creary of the 1841 census Ratten Row is still there in 1851,she is a grocer born Troutbeck Westmorland. She is a widow,

Also further down the row is an unmarried Joseph Creary born Ulverston circa 1807,his niece Ann is his housekeeper,

Nancy Brownrigg marries Thomas Gaulker, her father is a ships broker.

Nancy and Thomas Gaulter, were very close friends of Hannah and William,Hannah and her husband also are in Ratten Row in 1841,with Nancys father Joseph Brownrigg,

looking further back I found this marriage John Gaulter to Agness Rawcliff,
St Chads Poulton Le Flyde ,23 rd of September 1806,
I wonder if they are actualy related,
