Hmmmm I have them too in 1861, Gurnsey again.  So is the father a different man to the other Grimsey who died?

Thats prob why I can't find a marriage for Susannah and George - cos she married John! lol

Ignore me - lost the plot, John is a differnt man - she still married George (I was searching for William....grrrr, totally confused!

George Grimsey married Susannah Sarward in the district of Lexden in December 1/4 1846 (12, 253)

Aha
The John Chapman in the Ancestry index for this 1861 entry is actually the household above - is that who you were thinknig of?

Susannah is just down as married - no hubby listed - so I guess George was at sea.

(Bit like us here - all at sea!!)

(Sorry I put on the reference and then went back to fill in the details cos I didnt want to waste anyones time looking for the same thing, but of course I should have put who it was I'd found!!)

I guess if Edmund E and William H are at sea as much as George G (aka john/William!!)  then that is why they cant be found on previous censuses
