Hi David

Thanks again for looking, just one more request if i may??

Do you have any baptisms for Jones at 11 Glannant Cottages around 1920 or before, Thomas & Hannah Registered my grandafthers birth whilst at that address.

James Jones was born in January 1920, He also had siblings of Betty, Mary, Jack/Jackie All Jones.

Thank you SO much

Emily

Hi Emily,

Sorry my searching isnt really helping you much, but ive found a Mary Catherine Francis who lived at 11, Glannant Terrace, Glanrhyd who was buried at St. Cynogs on 15/04/1937. Whether Glannant Terrace and Glannant Cottages are the same im not sure!

Sorry, but there are no baptisms for any Joneses of those names. Maybe they were non conformists. I dont dont have any NC records im afraid.

If theres any other names you want me to check then let me know....

David.

Hi David,

That is brilliant what you have found for me. I know we have been in touch before re George & Elizabeth, but it never occurred to me to ask about any of their family family baptisms.

As you said, Glannant Cottages & Glannant Terrace-are they one & the same? I don't live in the area, so cant visit in order to find out. (Any locals reading this who can help here?) It certainly looks as if the family had moved to Ystradgynlais when these children were born, as they were in Wern Rd, Ystalyfera at the time of the 1911 census. I didn't know that Gladys had died at such a young age, so that is one branch I can now close.

I have to be a little careful with regards to Havards in Ystradgynlais, as I'm fairly sure there is another totally unrelated branch in the area as well. I know there is a Floyd H., who was a boxer in his time, but cannot prove any relationship between my branch and his.

From reading Emily's posts to you, it's probably that her ancestors would have known mine. Emily if you are reading this & can help with the geography, would love to hear from you.

Ive got a great friend living near there who knows the area well. GIve me a couple of days and ill find out.

I live in Swansea about 15mins away but I dont know the area that well.

Best wishes,
David.

Hi David,

Can I add 2 more to the list I sent you the other day please.

A burial date for William John Davies Havard died 5 Oct 1934, buried in Gorof Cemetery. (The headstone says Harvard, just in case you cannot trace.) & Arthur George Fred Havard, died 26 Sept 1972, also I believe in Gorof.

Best wishes

Julie

Hi Julie,

Sorry, but im not able to help much here. The only thing I can find is the following baptism:

William John Havard baptised at St. Cynogs on 11 May 1932 son of Lewis & Margaret Havard of 4, Ewart Villas.

My records for burials start to get a few gaps after 1952.
