Morning Christopher,

I'm new to RootsChat and although I have been researching for just over a year I am just starting to look into my Irish ancestors which is proving more challenging!

I notice from your information on landowner is Co Cork in 1870 you have an Ellen Guinee in Buttevant owning 1acre - is there any way I can find out more about this lady?

My great great grandmother is Hannah Guinea, born 1862 in Newmarket, Co. Cork who married Samuel Curtis in 1881 at St Lukes Episcopalian Church. He was a soldier stationed in Buttevant and he returned to England approx 1885 bringing his wife and two children with him.

I am wondering if Ellen may have a connection to Hannah - Guinea doesn't seem to be a very common name.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated,
many thanks,

Regards,
Yvette.

Sadly Chrisopher died earlier this year (under his photo is 'deceeased') but hopefully someone else will be able to help you.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Yvette.
