Sorry but probably not my line- all my Josephs married Elizabeth's or died young.

spec -" i no in 1907 Frank married Rose Rolfe (she had two sons Cuthbert and Blandford rolfe was a single parent)and the first one of her sons is proving very illusive to say the least"

Cuthbert Rolfe was born Thornton Cuthbert Rolfe, here is his birth:
ROLFE, THORNTON  CUTHBERT            mothers maiden name    -
GRO Reference: 1903  M Quarter in HUNGERFORD  Volume 02C  Page 266

He is easier to find if you search Thornton Rolfe.

If anyone wants a complete tree of the Wiltshire Caswells, please go to www.moonrakers.com where there is a FORUM to place your information. It's usually in the form of a GEDCOM file.

Hi Justin,

There are many good suggestions if you are just starting out on the beginners forum here:

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/board,47.0.html

The first thing to do is make a note of all of the details you DO know like your parents names (especially middle names) and your mother's maiden name and as much as you know about your grandparents.

A good start can be made at freeBMD here to fill in some blanks and work out where to go forward:

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

Also, don't hesitate to post questions here on Rootschat. Everyone here are keen to help.

Good luck in your quest - but be warned, it is VERY addictive.  :)

Paul

The type of questions its asking is quite confusing ha. Like spouse surname all that. I was told that a story from a mtt Caswell posted in 1999 was the quest that confirmed ALL caswell last name to be from there. Not sure if this is true or not. Water cress was only thing that really made that guy stop his quest . This is quite addicting but I hit dead  after dead end. I have my father my grandpa's and great grandpa's name.
hi my father is Charles Willis Caswell he was married to Alberta before he married my mother...I would love to chat with you...
