Living at age 14yrs,8, King's Lane Ruabon. In 1881, he and a brother, James Davies, were living with mother Jane Thomas & we assume, step father, Edwin Thomas, with 3 other Thomas siblings. Thanks in anticipation. DAVIES Christmas,Sub district  Ruabon registers at Wrexham C.B. RBN/028/52 1867
DAVIES Christmas, Sub district  Ruabon registers at Wrexham C.B. RBN/028/98 1867

Found this on Wrexham Births index. Two chioces  - both Ruabon

I`m almost sure that Ruabon PRs on microfilm only go up to 1828 for baptisms in Wrexham Museum, so it looks like a trip to Ruthin or the certifcate.

Looking at 1881, Christmas Davies 14 and James Davies 17 are described as son in law, rather than step son  to  Edwin Thomas 41.
If this is correct then they would be sons of a daughter of Edwin who married a Davies.  ???  I think  :-\
A bit tight on the age though.

Another way is if you have the marriage of Christmas you can see who the father is , and his occupation. This is usually shown on the certificate and the parish register entry.

Yes it appears Christmas Davies married Emily Hill at Chesterfield Derbyshire in 1888 the October Quarter. The GRO reference is Volume 7b,page 1169.You will find him in 1891 at Newbold Derbyshire with wife Emily given as born in "Stonegravels" Derbyshire in c 1872,and son Robert born in c 1890 in "Sheepbridge Derbyshire.RG12/2762/46/7.In 1901 they are at Newbold again, there is no sign of the Robert, but there are children given as Frank born in Sheepbridge in c 1893,Alfred born in Sheepbridge in c 1898,and William given as 9 months old and born in Sheepbridge. There is also a Death for a Christmas Davies at Chesterfield in 1906 in the October Quarter. His age is given as 39 years. The GRO reference for this is Volume 7b,page 435.

if there were 2 births then there must be two deaths and possibly 2 marriages? how do we tell which one is correct?

If you are working back from  the present, then I would imagine you have certificates to say who are the parents of your ancestors.
How did  you get  to Christmas Davies?

So far I`ve only found one Christmas Davies in the Cefn area in 1871, but the age isn`t right for your date of 1867.
This one would have been born c 1860 , but I`ve put him down anyway.
Details are 1871 Cefn Mawr.
Thomas Davies head   33 miner  b Bagillt  Flint
Mary       "       wife  37 b Ruabon
Christmas  son 11 miner b Cefn Mawr.
Elizabeth dau 9 scholar        "
Mary Jane dau 1                   "
James son 1                         "

Can`t see any other at the moment.

Also in 1871 in Cefn Mawr
Edwin Thomas 34  forgeman b Cefn
Jane 26 b Acrefair.
Thomas 4 b Rhosymedre.
Miriam 2 b Cefn Mawr.
These look like the same family that Christmas is with in 1881, Edwins  occupation is the same and Thomas and Miriam are there.

1891 England. Living in Atherton, Leigh,  Lancashire.
Looks like the same family from 1871. Their ages  match exactly, but their Christmas didn`t. match with 1867.
Thomas Davies 53 coal worker b Wales
Mary 37 b Wales
James 21 b Wales.

Very interesting that there are six households on the  one page, all from Ruabon area.

Apart from the two Christmas Davies  born 1867, there is one born 1862 and one in 1863. All Ruabon.

Two Christmas Davies died between 1860 and 1900.
One in 1867, the other in 1892, again Ruabon.

It`s now been confirmed that Christmas Davies married Emily Susan Hill.
WR Jones had the correct one after all. :)[
