Lockzie.Robert and Agnes had a John and a James.    John born 28-3-1807 yarrow and James christened in selkirk 28-4-1811.The rest are all listed in IGIs but Isabella is shown as Isabel. No trace Mis Yarrow Ettrick Kirkhope or St marys or John Scott and Mary Grieve
I am doing the MIs of ashkirk at the  moment and dont see them anywhere and i dont have the MIs for Hawick which are only on Hawick Arch.Society Transactions but the Heritage Hub may help you there. When I have time I will look elsewhere and let you know and all MGSCOTTS queries as well.

Thankyou Lockzie for the wonderful ballad.  Wouldn't be my gr gr grandfather for he escaped the water only to freeze later that cold night....on land.  But what a wonderful little piece of history anyway.  And with all the Williams in my tree I'm keeping hold of this ballad for there may be a connection one day.

Alan,  thanks so much for all your work on the Ashkirk MI's.  Wonderful news that you are working on them.

Alan, I'm sure you know of this resource but I just stumbled across it today and thought of you.  There are links to photos and a manuscript about the Ashkirk cemetery that you can click on too.

I have learned that a small book was published titled "A History of Ashkirk, 1790-1990"  I'd love to get my hands on a copy if anyone can find me one.
