You still haven't mentioned what religion they would have been which makes a big difference in tracing Irish marriage records.

Checked for marriage on BVRI vol.2 but no marriage for this couple comes up in Ireland, England, Scotland or Wales.
It could be that the marriage is not on the above disk or another possiblity below-
If the date of marriage is from a child's birth certificate in Scotland it could be that the informant got the year of the marriage wrong and it could be 1844 or some other date before 1845.

If they were Baptist it's possible that they also had to go through a Registry Office  ceremony as at that date only certain ministers were licenced to perform marriages (this has come up with Reformed Presbyterians at that time and for a good while later).

thank you for taking the time to look.

it was from one of their children's BC,
Their first child Elizabeth was born in Ireland before they moved she was 19 0n Jan 1st 1866 at her Marriage, so she must have been born around 1846/47.  she was married in the united Presbyterian church.so maybe that was their religion.

thanks again for help

If that's the case wonder if the birth certificates of any other children born in Scotland would give different details about the parents' marriage.

Mary Dickson born 15th January 1857,
parents John Dickson and Jane Dickson MS Connelly.

no mention of their Marriage on this Certificate.
and as brother john was born around 1853,, and cannot find his BC, It looks like he may not have been registered,
