I have received the following post from Nelliep earlier today........

Any information on William Mcgowan or Macgowan, sailor, who married a lady with the surname "Hawthorn" - the lady later married a "Wilson".  Period of time would be 1880-1900. connection with Island Magee Northern Ireland.
Daugher was a Nellie MacGowan born 1890.

if anyone has any ideas I am sure Nelliep will be very pleased to hear anything we can find out.  :)

Hi,

I would start by checking the birth indexes for the parents of Nellie McGowan 1890. These are available on film at your local family history centre or at the GRO Dublin.

I have the above William McGowan who married a Martha Hawthorne on my family tree. They had 6 children one of which was Nellie.
