Need help-James McIntyre-no clue!

As I'm researching both sides of my husbands paternal grandparents,we've learned his grandmothers father came from Ireland.Its been mentioned numerous times by a relative that she wore orange on St.Patricks  Day because it was the color of northern Ireland.

His grandmother was Catherine McMichael McIntyre,and she was born in April of 1877 in Polmont,Stirling,which I've found on SP.

Her mothers name was Catherine McMichael.

Her father is listed as James McIntyre born in Ireland,no town,no dates,so I have no idea where to start as I don't know what towns compose that area.
