must apologise once again - posted news about this photo on page 36 and then didn't post photo  - no one noticed!!!  ::)

"Dell has sent this photo of the bayonet training gym class 1917 at Aldershot. the names on hte back are faded - Alfred sent it to his mum - dell thinks he is the front far left. Also Charles may be on it? Dell has it from his brother Keith."

I don't think you are imagining it Ruskie........there does seem to be a resemblance, I wonder if somebody could put them side by side for a comparison.

Thanks for posting that article, lovely to read it, also the picture of the Bayonet training group.

I just had a look at Alfred's service record on the NAA site.

It says he was at BF training at Aldershot from 3/9/1917 - 28/9/1917.

Ruskie & Barbara, I agree those two you mention do look very similar, facial features and muscles.
