1841/51 Census Please - GEORGE
« on: Saturday 26 April 08 01:44 BST (UK) »
Looking for help on the family of Esther(Hester) GEORGE, b.circa 1819, at Troedyraur.

I have her m/cert of May1850 showing her husband William EVANS (Tailor) as being a resident of Llanelly, and Hester a resident of Ferryside. The marriage took place at St. Ishmaels in Carms.

1851/61/71 Census records show this couple living in Llanelly (William was born in Eglwys-cymmin), but would like info. from 1841 and 1851 on Hester's family, but I don't know if they lived in Cards., or Carms. Hester's father was Samuel GEORGE (a farmer), so it was likely he would have still been in Cardigan; her mother was possibly Eliza.

I have several siblings extracted from familysearch.org but I don't know if it's the same family. Census info. would confirm this.

Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Suz

Many thanks for this info.

It could be that Esther was a family servant with the Morris family in 1841, is that right? And it looks as if you've got the right George family, as Samuel is the father, from the m/cert. I have.

Is there anything on this family in 1851? Don't know if Samuel would have still been alive, but there may be some younger siblings to follow-up on. Any additional info. would be helpful.

Thanks again

I can't seem to locate them on a later census - although I have a possibility for lewis.

I will keep looking
