At Ashkirk you've found the marker of my great-great grandfather....the William Scott who died at Dimpleknowe in 1848 at age 48. I knew of this marker and it helped me put together a good number of records related to his family.
his wife was a Mary Scott who parents were the John and Helen Scott i had mentioned. i was hoping to learn more about them by finding thier marker.
after marrying, William and Mary Scott lived thier lives out at Ashkirk and raised thier family of 5 boys there. all the branches have moved on now though so hard to track.
my real stumbling block is that i can't seem to figure out how to find anything about the parents of William Scott of Dimpleknowe. a search on Scotlandspeople mentioned Catslack so i was grasping at straws.
