Marriage lookup- pre1930

Canadian records show John M.H. Scholes age 42 arriving in Quebec on 4 May 1930. There's also a Gladys E. Scholes age 33 on the voyage.
I know the man is John Mitchell Hunter Scholes born 9 Dec.1887 but as it's such an uncommon surname am wondering if Gladys could be John's wife.

Can anyone help by finding a marriage between John Scholes and Gladys E. __ before May 1930?
