these baptisms are also on the BIVRI and are associated with peter clare as father and rachel as mother-
william bapt 23rd sept 1834 latchford
john bapt 9th sept 1838 latchford
mary bapt 9th sept 1838 latchford
another william bapt 9th sept 1838 latchford........... block baptisms  ;D

Hi Ali I found those baptisms also, but i dont have access to the census any more so like Susie  im going by what other researches tell me i did wonder if this is our Peter and Rachel But the Website someone gave me tells a different story

Not sure if this is still active but.......

Peter Clare and Rachel Wood are my 4 x G Great Grandparents.
They had (at least) 9 children (Joseph, Elizabeth, William, Mary, John, Ellen, Thomas, James and Edward). James' middle names were Slingsby Duncombe - anybody any idea why?

Peter appears in the 1841 Census as Shoe Maker (Shoe M - although some transcripts show this as Char Man!).

He married Rachel Wood in 1829 in Grappenhall.

Peter was born on 18/02/1809 and Christened on 18/06/1809. Father was also Peter Clare (Blacksmith). Mother was Sarah Ward. Peter + Sarah married in 1799, Warrington and a witness was Thomas Clare (not sure if a brother or other relative). Peter Clare (Senior) was born in Warrington 1776 and his parents were Sarah Lawton and Isaac Clare.

Rachel Wood is in the 1841, 51 + 61 Censuses, with her birth place recorded as Cheshire, Lymm Cheshire, Latchford Cheshire respectively. Her DOB is most likely 1808 but IO can find no other records for her. Has any one else manged to find out more about Rachel (or Peter).
