Hi William and Tati

Thank you for your help, this is all very interesting.

It is strange that no father is listed on his marriage certificate?
on this census his father is a Farmer and he is farm working in 1901. was farming profitable at this time in that area? im trying to figure out why he came to Liverpool? his occupation on his marriage certificate and my grandmothers certificate is Fireman at Docks.

again thank you for the help, its very good of you both ;)

Anthony

I am puzzled by this ancestor. He is listed as deceased when my grandmother married in december 1937 in Liverpool, yet i can find no death records for him?

now the only other thing i can think of is he died in ww1, but a search on the cwgc only returns one H R Hughes with no details. so how can i find him?

hard work this genealogy, but great fun. :D
