In the 1899 PO Directory the householder at that address was John Finlayson

In the 1901 census Finlayson and his family are there, also Eleanor D Gregory, a widow, and 3 servants. RG13/38 f120 pages 2 and 3. Do you need more detail?

Many thanks for your help Shaun.The person Iam looking for gave this address in 1923,
William Macpherson b1900 where he is on a passenger list Southampton to Montreal.
I know for a fact that this is correct.He brought my gd grandmother back a Canadian sealskin coat.
My problem being that this guy may have been using an assumed name.
Its not something that is going to be solved very easily,have been trying to find out for years.
