1851 census, lookup
« on: Tuesday 06 May 08 19:40 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find a CUTTING family in Bradfield in 1851, especially Sarah age 67 (if she is still alive), shown as an Inn Keeper in 1841 and Chapman, carpenter.

If the census is indexed, I'll take any reference to the CUTTTING name.

Thank you, Linda

Re: 1851 census, lookup. Sarah CUTTING

I have just started doing my family history. Sarah CUTTING of Bradfield is my 3rd Great Grandmother.

I have been to Bradfield Church and there do not appear to be any Cuttings in the churchyard, however I will be making further visits.

Did you discover anything else about Sarah?

Cleal - Topsham, Devon, Tewkesbury & Birmingham
Cutting - Bradfield, Essex & Saxmundum, Suffolk
Tennant - Shropshire
Morgan - Birmingham

Andrew:

Sarah turned out to not be part of my family, however I do have quite a lot of information on her, or more specifically her daughter Sarah.

Which of her children do you come from?

Linda

Hi Linda...

Chapman Cutting is my 2nd Great Grandfather. I know Sarah went to live with him when he moved to Saxmundum. Chapman's son Cleere Cutting is my Great Grandfather.

Kind Regards

Andrew

Ref: Cleere Cutting.

Dear Andrew,

I'm currently writing an article concerning g my grandfather, Arthur Syrett. He worked with a Cleere Cutting at Cobbold's Brewery, Ipswich. By chance is this the same Cleere Cutting as your great-grandfather?

Kind regards, Bob
