RUNNALLS Family, St Breward
« on: Sunday 11 May 08 03:13 BST (UK) »
Looking for any info about the RUNNALLS family, from the St Breward area.

Jane RUNNALLS born 6 Dec 1816, came to NZ with her sister in 1839. She was married in Wellington, NZ 27 April 1840, died 1886.

The sisters name was Sarah and she married Thomas POAD at South Petlerwin, Launceston in 1834.

EDIT They were children, I think, of William RUNNALLS and Sarah.

Hi Ian,

I am related to the Poad Family, so I have all the details
of Sarah & Thomas Poad's family.

I don't know much about the Runnalls side, as it isn't my blood line.
I can put you in touch with some of Sarah's descendants in New Zealand
who will be able to help you.

Please send me a personal message (pm) with your email address, so I can contact you direct.

I do know Sarah parents are Sarah Brent born 9 Nov 1777 St Brewards and William Runnalls born 1 June 1772 St Brewards.

Regards, Gail

Hi Ian,

I am from the Runnalls / Reynolds / Reignolds family, from St Breward.
My link is William, the brother of Deborah Runnalls, grandmother of Sarah.

I have Poad in my tree, via the Sarah Runnalls marriage.

Thanks to everyone who has replied on this one.

Now to find Robert WYETH's ancestry, the guy she married, supposedly born in Jamaica in 1814.

Arminal Elizabeth “Jane” Kingdon LEAY/”Johnson”

Her mother Elizabeth “Jane” Kingdon daughter of Arminall (nee) Runnalls & William Kingdon
William Kingdon born “Linkinhorne”, Cornwall. (North Callington closer to Kelly Bray)
Kingdon family has further extensions to residency in Cawsand, Rame.

Daughter and mother to our “Jane Johnson” Elizabeth Jane Kingdon married John Leay; John Leay borne in “Rock” a lower suburb/part of St. Minver “Lowlands” on the opposite side of the River Camel estuary directly opposite Padstow.
Father Richard LEAY buried in St. Menefreda Church, St Minver
LEAY family from the surrounding area of St. Minver Lowlands/Highlands which is just North of Blisland & St. Brewer.

Elizabeth Jane’s sister Ann Kingdon married John Pengelley, the Pengelley family history is extensive and very pertinent to Cornwall.
Other Kingdon siblings Maria, William & Edwin.

Arminall Runnalls-Kingdon born 1777 St Brewer, died 1867 "Waterloo", suburb of Truro,
Waterloo is immediately off to the left of the 1st main roundabout in Truro when heading Southwest.

Arminall for a few or many years lived with her daughter Ann and son-in-law John Pengelley in Blisland according to the 1851 Census.

It seems that the Runnalls family were centred in and around St Brewer, and after the marriage settled as the Arminall & William Kingdon family in the (next) hamlet of "Blisland", Cornwall. (walking distance).

Please excuse me but it is Saint Breward.
Highest village in Cornwall. Right on the  moor.
Lovely old church and  beautiful views .
