Birth - Leslie John Satchwell

I am looking for the birth of Leslie John (Jack) Satchwell 2/3 July 1902

Leslie was married on 8 August 1936 at St James Church, Coorparoo, Brisbane to Louise Elizabeth Taylor.  Louise was born and died in NZ.
On the marriage certificate Leslie's date of birth is given as 3 July 1902, birthplace Brisbane, Australia and his parent's were William Charles Satchwell and Emmeline Martha Morrison (Emmeline was a widow and maiden name was Jarrold)

On Leslie's army record dated 1944 his date of birth is stated as 2/7/1902 and that he had served with the Queensland Militia for 7 years.

Leslie & Louise had one daughter born at Lady Bowen Hosp, Brisbane on 14/6/1937.  They moved to NZ abt 1937/1938 and had two more children.

Leslie died in NZ 15/4/1959 aged 56.

Is it possible to check Militia records for Queensland?

I have been unable to find a birth record for Leslie.  Was his birth perhaps registered under a different name and he was adopted by William & Emmeline Satchwell???

There is a sibling for Leslie born 1897 in Queensland (not Brisbane), who I assume you have found. I can't find any other children to this couple registered in Qld. Also a birth in NSW

I searched the dates and in 2/7/1902 there were only 3 children born (registered) in Brisbane and the following day there were 6. No names that vaguely resembled yours. I thought the Militia records were on the National archives, but it seems not, perhaps it is only some WWI ones that I found. You could email or call  the archives and ask the question.

Marriage  in 1881/C541 Morrison Robert James Aiken Jarrold Emmeline Martha

Robert died in 1892
Then  marriage in NSW

4025/1894 SATCHWELL WILLIAM C married MORRISON EMMELINE M  at GUNNEDAH

one child so far
3197/1895 SATCHWELL DOROTHY F L father WILLIAM C mother
EMELINE M at  GUNNEDAH

It is the registration of Leslie's birth that has me baffled!!!!

Follow on from my PM recently.I can find no record of Leslie nor a mention of him in 15 public trees on A*****y for William Charles,nothing on electoral rolls etc,except this

Hi Mel,

I know that I am late into this one but as a direct descendant of William Charles Satchwell, I can confirm that I believe that he was not the father of Leslie J Satchwell.  You may like to change your searches to looking for a Leslie J Morrison in the BDM NSW, so he was a son-in-law. From memory he was born in Musslebrook, NSW,, but my memory is somewhat shot these days.

I have a copy of W.C. Satchwells death certificate and it does not list Leslie as a son.

NSW BDM online births index has:
MORRISON, Leslie J with parents as Finlay J and Annie M.  This is registered for the Muswellbrook district in 1916.  # 37042.

ADD,  Drills down to a dob of 31 August 1916
