The Reserve in WW11
« on: Wednesday 21 May 08 22:08 BST (UK) »
I know that a soldier in a reserve force called up or re-enlisting in about 1915/16 and promoted to Warrant Officer 11 Class would have received the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.  If he had served abroad he would have received the Star?  I have got myself a little confused.   So if he didn't serve abroad there would not have been another medal?

His first stint was in South Africa and Egypt and had the Queen's and King's Medals.
Thank you,
Abiam

No I'm afraid he would not have either of the x2 WW1 stars, the 1914 star and the 1914-15 star.

He would have had to have seen service prior to Dec 31st 1915 to get the latter, and 22nd Nov 1914 for the former in any theatre of war...

He could have had service abroad post these dates, but would not have been awarded either...

And despite the thread title..I am presuming you mean WW1... ;)
One more charge and then be dumb,

May the victors when they come
Find my body near the wall.
