Hi youngbird,

www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk

gives a couple more children who would seem to be Joseph jnr's siblings as they were also born in Drypool:

1846 Frances
1848 Susannah

There are no others, so this is probably when the family moved away.

Unfortunately, I couldn't see a marriage for Joseph snr in Yorkshire prior to 1844 on either Yorkshire BMD or Free BMD, but there's a possibility:

March Q 1838 St George, Southwark
Ref: 4 76
Joseph Singleton
- there are 8 names on the page, so 4 possible brides, but one is called Susannah (Price), which might account for their daughter's name?  :-\

HELP!!!

 BATHSHEBA BOOTHROYD bn c. 1802 W. Yorks.

Baptism nowhere to be found. Possibly in a nonconformist church near ALMONDBURY or HUDDERSFIELD.

Susanna looks to have died Sep qtr 1856, Hull, 9d 122

In 1861 Susannah the daughter is in the District Workhouse, Myton, Hull, aged 13, an orphan, scholar, born Hull - RG9/3597/95/4
Looks like Susannah SANGWELL married John COULTAS Mar qtr 1869, Bramham, 9c 743. She is with husband and young son in Bramham in 1871 - RG10/4295/22/13. She is still around with husband and family in 1881 and 1891, and a widow in 1901.

Can't see Frances the daughter anywhere though.

EDIT
Fanny SANGWELL death registered Hull, Jun qtr 1857.
