Since Ancestry gave the option to upgrade/enhance the view of census records (which I accepted instead of continuing with the old service) I have been having problems. The screen freezes and I get kicked out. I use Firefox and it gives me the option to restore to the previous view which I do. So I don't have to start all over again.  :) Then I have no problems for awhile but it usually happens again.... :-\  Previous to the enhancement option I never had any issues.

Oh yes - I already sent an e-mail.

I was on explorer when it did it today but  usually use Mozilla Firefox - and that has been doing it too (even using the old viewer option).   But I got back on today on Mozilla OK (till now fingers crossed).

Very frustrating

Hi mab,

Does this happen when you try and view  images.
If so Ancestry sent me instructions on how to remove the Enhanced Image Viewer to prevent this happening.
PM me your email address and I'll forward them to you.

Hi Chris, Can I please ask why it is that I can view the images quite quickly for about 1 & half hours then  all of  a sudden I cant?  Surely it seems to me that Ancestry are trying to blame our computers etc, when I think it is simply an overload of users..If you can also send me instuctions Chris I will glady try it.... thank's to all who joined in this thread.    Dolly..

PS  Have been using Ancestry today with no further trouble as yet!

Hi Dolly,

The problem seems to occur when you don't allow an image to fully open before moving to the next.  That's how I discovered it.
Ancestry seem to be blaming their Enhanced Image Viewer.

No problem with Ancestry since I followed their instructions
PM me your email address and I'll forward the instructions they sent me to remove it

I assume you're aware of the problems with the Ancestry image viewer and Norton Internet Security 2008:o

Chris

Well I do zip about quite quickly backwards and forwards through the pages so I can see that could be a possibility.
