I was going to do a look up on the ships lists here in the UK,but I still don't know WHO is supposed to have left here c1907 for Canada,other than that his name was Martin,possibly Charles.

You indicate that he had a wife and children but what are their names.
When and where were any of them born?
What job did dad do?

I have followed the link kindly given by Janice,but it mentions a James and Theresa and they both seem to have been in Canada for years,so it's not them

So please Wendy give me their names and I'll see if I can find when they lfet the UK.

Hey Carol, welcome to the frey.
Charles Martin b. 1878.  his wife Frances Gertrude nee Sandford,arrived Canada c.1907 with sons Charles Francis b.1904. Surrey England. + Henry Joseph b. 19 Oct. 1906.england. William James (Thomas in Ancestry)b.1908, Norfolk. 1911 census has them in Middleton Twp.Norfolk  Arrival 1907.

Family moved to Tillsonburg where Dtrs Ivy Florence (md.Jguracich. -Sweeney)+ Violet Isabel born there . (md. Darley)
dtrs Deanna + Frances. + Albert Leornard . 1914 d.1944.

I don't think they really existed at this point. Enjoy Carol. However they were interred in Tillsonburg  Cemetery
Frances 1940 + Charles 1954.

Hi Wendy,

Well I have found the birth of the Charles Francis( St Olave June 1904)
But cannot see a  Henry Joseph registered in Dec 1906,nor a William James registered in Norfolk in 1908.

Not sure what you mean by "Thomas in Ancestry?"

If mum was here in 1908 giving birth to William,how can she have been on a ship bound for Canada in 1907

I was trying to establish exactly who is going to be in the ships passenger list,as the surname is fairly common and there are loads of Martin's 

Will try the passenger lists now- possibly looking for Frances Gertrude would be less common than Charles.

I saw on Ancestry..Canadian births "MARTIN..William Thomas" (another name may be James) pts Charles & Frances Gertrude Martin, 1908 but couldn't view anything more.

Forgive my lack of clarity on "Norfolk-Canada" my head still reels when I see all the places which are the same as in England.

"Frances" is oft'times spelled "Francis" They may have just listed as "Adult" or initials.
Personally I think they rowed themselves out there.
