Help needed with place in Lancashire!!

Hi everyone

Just found out from 1871 census an ancestors first husband came from Lancashire, in 1881 he said Durham!!!  My problem is the place name ... it looks like Comergreen or Cowergreen ... any ideas any one?

Expect Hackstaple is right - as usual !!

But another one to try is Carr Green, Dunham, Nr Altrincham.

That's a good one! Looks like Cornergreen or Comergreen to me.
There is a Condor Green near Lancaster and a Copster Green near Blackburn. Could it be either of these?

...and there I was looking in Durham
It is not Corner Green as the writer does not form any of his small "r's" in that way. So - Comer Green or that in one word. I don't know of it, I'm afraid as the only part of Lancashire that I could claim to know well was the Fylde.

Well that's more than what I know Hack!!!!  I really have no idea, if it's not in my road map I've got no idea about finding it.
