Does anyone know where I can find the parents of Thomas Gudsell born 1591 in FRANT sussex.

have you checked the protestant returns?
and also the PR's for Frant ?

are you in Sussex?
the Sussex Record Office should have the PR's although i am not sure when they date back to
PR's began in Henry VIII time

and if you are lucky they will have the protestant returns to - this was a 'piece of paper' signed by male hea dof households i beleive over a certian age declaring there faith to the Queen (Eliz. I) after the hoo ha over Mary Queen of Scots - the catholic one!

I've had a look on the Sussex Marriage Index for any Gudsell marriages in Frant around that time but there are none.  However there are a couple in Lamberhurst in the 1570s.

 i wonder if its (mis)transcribed as Gutsell - there are several Gutsell families in Sussex ........... i think

Yes I was just about to say but the postman interrupted me with a Faulkner certificate  ;D that those two are Gutsell and there is a later (1610) Gutsell marriage again in Lamberhurst.
