« on: Tuesday 06 April 04 23:26 BST (UK) »
Mary Anne b1835 from Gorteen, Galway arrived in Australia as a Bounty Immigrant aboard `Thomas Arbuthnot' in 1850.  Her parents were deceased.
She married Charles Edwards in 1853.

Anyone else researching this or these names.

I am also looking for all our back Kealeys. So far, my husband Lloyds great-grandpa was Laurance. Lived in Canada. Believed to have come from Ireland with 2 brothers. The family later settled in Montana. Lloyds Grandfathers name was Joseph, his father was Walter Seager Kealey. Born on Dec 1 189?. In Hamiton Mt.  Have a little more info, but not much. Sorry that I can't help in your search.  Ally  ???

Thanks for the reply.  It is possible that some of Mary Ann's family went to Canada.  I have since found out that her parents were John Keeley and Bridget surname not known.
Any connection let me know.

Hi,

Usually the parish records of births show the mother's maiden name. Do you have Mary Anne Keeley's birth record from Gorteen? You could check these records too for siblings.

Having said that, you need to know which Gorteen, Galway it is. There are
5 (Ballymacward, Templetogher, Kilcloony, Dunmore and Ballynakill)

Regards

Kate
