However, you would need to get one of the children's birth certificates to confirm Mary's maiden name.

Your GGG grandmother obviously died between census in 1851 and Q2. 1853 - but since I'm not sure where, and there are no ages on the death index at that time, I can't pin the record down.

Jan - can I just tell you - I've had a lot of help finding this data from another Rootschatter - Gadget - who pointed me at the Berkshire Marriage Index and also found Frederick in 1851 and Augustus' marriage.

This is absolutely fabulous, thank you so much and also to you Gadget.

Now we can tie up some information on Edmund Thorn being in London, another family member had him living in 33 East Street, London, but we just couldn't see the connection at that time.

Was wondering if you could assist me with Edmund Thorn b.1792, who his parents might be, and where they lived.   You mention a John Thorn in the 1851 census, being 75 years at North Croft Lane and Eliza aged 54 years.
