Hey,

Well, this is a long shot as I can see that this conversation took place a few years ago but these two are my great grandparents.

My grandfather Joe is Hectors brother.

Would love to hear from all that may be related.

Kerry Hulstaert

Hi Kerry

Joe was my uncle as is Hector, they are both my dad's (Alexander) brothers.
Maybe we can get in touch via standard email.
Unfortunately I can't seem to send a private message here.
Maybe! I have sent you a PM.

Hello, Alfred Ludovicus Hulstaert was my grandfather, he was married to Hilda Amy Howard Elston on 13th January 1916 at  the Notre Dame De France in London, they had 7 children (Vera, Ruby, Derrick, Rita, Alexander (my Dad), Joseph and Hector. I believe his parents were Hector & Amy (I am having trouble getting any details of them) Alfred died on 19th December 1938, of Pnuemonia (progressive atrophy). I am on Ancestry.com, there are some photos of them & a copy of their marriage certificate and the death certificate for Alfred.if you have any information or photos of his family in Belgium I would appreciate if we could share.
Thanks Chriss

Hi guys,

There is now an image set on familysearch:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/2138513

This is not 100% name indexed so if you search from the top page you will not find him. However, for each year of events  in Gent/Ghent there is a yearly index at the back (in some cases it seems to be seperated?)

14 May 1887 - Alfred Ludovicus Hulstaert, record 1675
http://www.rootschat.com/links/0z31/
(if this doesn't work he's bottom right of page 190 out of 601 for the Geboorten 1887).
Not very good with Dutch (my lot are from the French speaking side of things) but looks like father is Hector Dominicus and mother Nathalia Alexandrina van de Calseyde.

You could now work back through the years checking for siblings, and marriage of parents - provided all these events were also in the same town. The problems come when family moved around.  Keep an eye out for marginal notes (small writing in the left hand column) which might be references to later marriage and deaths for family who stayed in Belgium.
