No probs Cous  ;D

here is your opening statement; (we will wait for tephra to lock part 1);

After much thought I've decided to go with my husbands Romany Loveridge family.

William Loveridge aged 21 married Annie Loveridge aged 19  in the Ledbury district Hereford on the 28/9/1899.  Williams Father Thomas Loveridge Tin P?? maker Annie's father Cornelius Loveridge Basket Hawker.

I haven't been able to find them on any census. They went on to have 8 children that I know of:

Annie 16/8/1901 Ledbury Hereford married Christopher Ryalls/Royals
  Alice married ?? Smith
  Joe/Joney married Caroline Lamb
  William married Mary Biddle/Beddle
Helen/Nellie married Leonard Smith (possible cousin)
Becky 25/5/1912 newton Abbott Devon married Bill Smith
Phoebe married Sam Ryals/Royals (brother to Chris)
  John married Amelia Hurn/Hearne

I believe Annie's Parents were Cornelius and Valentine Loveridge nee Davis who married 16/8/1875 Highworth Wilts.  Valentines father James Davis, and Cornelius father Henry Loveridge.Valentine died 13/8/1900 in hereford.  I have Cornelius and other children in 1901:

RG13; Piece: 2430; Folio: 8; Page: 7.
Charles Loveridge 23  s
Cornelius Loveridge 54  head
Elizabeth A Loveridge 15 d
George W Loveridge 13 s
Henry Loveridge 25  s
Mary A J Loveridge 17  d

I also have this family in 1901 which i think maybe another child of Cornelius and Valentine.

RG13; Piece: 2470; Folio: 18; Page: 3.
Bertha Loveridge 29  wife
Cornelius Loveridge 28 head
Matilda Loveridge 4  d
Nicholas Loveridge 6  s
Norah Loveridge 3  d
Valentine Loveridge 6 months  d

I would love to find  more about these family's, in other census, any births or baptisms and anything at all about Williams family as Ive not found them at all, I know you're all great searchers and I'm hoping you can help me out thanks Matilda

From tiggi today

1871 Census RG10-2668-42-p11 Cheltenham Glouscestershire
John loveridge 38 Scissor Grinder
Alice 30
Charles 19
Betsy 14
Valentine 8 born Stow on Wold Gloucestershire
James 5
Thomas 2
*****************

That Valentine, is not the one belonging to Alice nee Davis.. (her Grandau,) she was born 1895 in Cheltnem Glos to Jonas Loveridge and Matilda Allen on 1901 census.

That family Tiggi just posted looks very interesting, perhaps someone could try and follow it up, it looks like Alice is not his first wife, the son Charles is 19, which would make her 11 yr old mother, Matilda I wonder if there is another sister....lots of family names in that 1871

Got to go out....catch you again

Happy hunting folks

Cas

 Matilda and Tiggi

This is the info that is missing on Ancestry ...DebbieG posted this.... I have checked the enumeration districts and it is not there .... :-\

I have  found what I think may be Valentine in 1871,  but the site I did it on doesn't give me the full ref the best I can do  is RG10/2613  and I think it's fo 17

the place is St Mary delode Gloucester - there is

Sarah Davis Head Mar 50 Tinmans hawker born Malmesbury Wilts
Jonas Davis Son Un 18 Tinman born Berks Illmington (I think this should be Abingdon)
Alice Loveridge dau Mar 35 Tinmans Hawker born Gloucestershire Cheltenham
Betsy Loveridge dau Mar 27 Razor Grinders wife born Oxford
Valentine Loveridge dau mar tinmans hawker born Oxford
