:)  Hi! Ricky and Barbara,  Looked at the 1851 for JOHN GUY Neath, he would be too young to be Marys Father only 36yrs, his wife Elizabeth36yrs, d Elizabeth10yrs, andAnne 6yrs, he as you said is also a gas fitter, as is a RICHARD GUY with his wife Mary and family,I am sure that these are one of the same family possibly sons of JOHN GUY, these two could be brothers of Mary Guy married to Samuel Mellin, what do you think Ricky???

Hi Margaret

Well the one Barbara found is down as 60 on the 1841 census so,
makes him born 1780 give or take 5 years , the Elizabeth living with him could be his  daughter or even dau/in/law.

Hi Marg,  hi Ricky  :)

Went back to check the 1841 in case I had mistaken John Guy's age 60 for 25 and I didn't (phew!) - so looks as if Elizabeth and baby Elizabeth were living with the father of the John you've found in 1851, what do you think

here's the 1841 entry:

Can't see him, sorry.  Maybe that was an enumerator's mistake with the age  :-\

Hi! Just looked at the 1851 census I have here and there is a John Guy and wife Ann in ITALY age 75yrs,  I wonder?   if we could find the marriage of this John   to Elizabeth, first child is 10yrs in 1851, so it could be around 1841ish perhaps that will tell us if John Senior was around then,  Marg,,
