Have you found the family on any census.........1841/51?

If there are children born after the start of civil registration (1837), and registered;   then you might be able to find Mercy's maiden name by sending for a copy of the birth certificate.

This would appear to be the only child that this couple had in Hampshire.  I cannot immediately see a marriage for them either.  Where did the idea that she may have been Mercy Cousins come from?

So maybe grandmother's maiden name of Cousins or maybe Mullett or Goodwin for the grandmother's maiden names.

The census records were taken 125 Galleywall Rd, Rotherhithe, London as their address.
