Hello Simon, 

Is Samuel (5yrs) the same Samuel Carvil that later married Edith (maiden name unknown), residing in Chopwell circa 1940? The Samuel Carvil I'm interested in had a son named Lawrence Samuel, born around 1918-19, who was killed whilst serving in the RAF.

Long story short, I'm looking to get in touch with Sgt Lawrence Carvil's family. I maintain a website for No 59 Squadron RAF,  the unit he was with when lost and would very much like to add additional information to his memorial page.

Any assistance you can offer, is greatly appreciated.
