I have found what I believe is a link to David Caird  in France but I cant get any further into this site because I dont have a subscription to it.  If someone has a subscription to this site to check the document for me I would be very grateful. Don’t think this information will be on Ancestry.
This is the link, the ones I'm interested in is 1851-1851 that says Stranraer and the one above it. As yet I don’t know what it relates to but I think it could be something to do with some of the family returning to UK from France.
Be grateful for any help or suggestions what this document is.

I sent an email to the Mairie on Saturday and I had a reply today from what I gather I have to write to another address. I was surprised and pleased I received a reply so quickly.

French Authorities seem to be excellent in replying to requests. This morning I received a copy of David Caird's birth certifcate with just a short note of what the expenses had come to:- the cost of the photocopying and the postage no charge for their time or the  document. Total 1.55 euros.

I still cant believe they have replied so quickly.
