Actually there are 2.
One aged 33 living in Roath with her husband Edwin and 2 children, looks like it could be a second marriage for Edwin.
There's another aged 34 in Canton with parents called Kerswill. This one is a widow.

Thanks Osprey,  I don't think either of them could be the Elizabeth Harris I am looking for.
Elizabeth Stringer born Chepstow married in Stoke on  Trent 1893 to Robert Harris. Robert not on 1901 Census so neither can  Elizabeth. Thought perhaps she was the one in Cardiff.
Thank you for looking for me. Regards, Syljun

Is that her married surname or her maiden name?

I'm not finding Elizabeth Stringer born Chepstow anyhow.

Found her now in 1891 as Garvey. Birth registered sept qtr 1871 Chepstow vol 11a pg 4, so a bit younger than you thought?

ok, she married Robert Herries in june qtr 1893 and here are the family in 1901

18 Sherlock Lane, Poulton cum Seacombe, Cheshire RG13/3406 folio 53 pg 14
Robert Herries head mar 41 petroleum oil works manager b. Cheshire, Little Brighton
Elizabeth wife 29 b. Monmouthshire, Calderts
Elizabeth dau 7 b. Staffordshire, Stoke
Robert William son 6 b. Stoke
Ernest James son 5 b. Stoke
Minnie dau 1 b. Stoke
Lucy Maria dau 3 months b. Stoke
Emily Jenkins servant 16 b. Hanley

I think Elizabeth's place of birth is meant to be Caldicot which is what it said in the 1881 census with her parents in Cinderford RG11/2522 folio 121 pg 32 and her baptism appears here in 1871

As her father John appeared to die in june qtr 1883, who do Elsie and Frank on the 1901 census belong to?

Osprey you are a star. Name change Harries, Harris, Herries.
Didn't she do well.
I have'nt got Death Cert. of John but everyone seems to think this is her father. As to Frank and Elsie this is what led me to try and discover who the likely father was. Thought maybe the lodger but cannot find births of either children in name of Garvey near to home or Stringer or Wagg (lodgers name I think).
Elizabeth Stringer/Garvey was my Grandmothers Sister.
Very grateful for information on daughter Elizabeth. I would never have found family.
Thanks again, Sylvia

Well, he's the father on the baptism I gave you above, but there wasn't an awful lot of time between their marriage and the baptism.
The marriage is also on the Caldicot page 9/7/1871, John transcribed as James Gawey.

John is in Caldicot for the 1871 census RG10/5292 folio 26 pg 27.

What puzzles me is the sudden appearance of 12 year old Frank on the 1901 census, unless he was just missed off the 1891. Certainly, can't see birth registrations for either Frank or Elsie, but there is a possible death reg for Frank
Frank Garvey 13 dec qtr 1902 Stoke vol 6b pg 113.
I wonder if they were adopted?
