Hi Sue,

Would you mind looking to see if there are any entries for any Allen/Allan families in the settlements in the 1700s? I don't think they were still in Iver for the 1801 & 1821 censuses.

Thanks,
Jill

hi jillruss
sorry for the delay in reply.
nothing for allen on the 1801 or 1821 census but in the settlement book;
william, wife ann plus son william have moved from langley marish to iver in 1753.
in 1760 john and elizabeth allen were evicted and went to horton.
in 1814 ann allen was born out of wedlock,father was henry bowyer a laborer of bray in berkshire.

also found a hester allen of iver who gained an apprenticeship in husbandry in april 1759.

dont know if you have this info;
private percival.a.allen (306528  1/8th battalion royal warwickshire reg was killed in france on 10th november 1918, he was the son of jonah and elizabeth allen of blanchards farm,iver and the brother of c. h. allen of northville, north road. berkhampstead.herts.
best wishes
sue
