**ADVICE about image resolution**

Hi All

Some of you may have noticed (JC for one being on the ball  ;) ) that I've put a note in my profile about scanning pics at 300 - 600 dpi.  I thought it might be a good idea if everyone did the same as it seems with each batch of new victims  :P :P er, postees  ;D ;D we are back to square one with the scanning issue.

Perhaps we could have a variety of messages as well, eg "Please refer to posting and scanning tuts at top of the board, before posting" or something similiar.

Anyway, just a suggestion.

Another good idea
Perhaps you could ask 'clients' who would like their pictures coloured if they could help by giving a
us a clue as to the colours they would like to see (or the colours being worn/hair etc) if they have preferences/ideas

;D ;D ;D always one to pay attention to details Caz!

I agree, and have also added the note to my profile.  Hopefully profiles are still read...

To Postees,  its for your benefit as well as our enjoyment to scan your pictures at a MINIMUM of 300dpi,  in return the restores will be of a higher quality and we will be more satisfied knowing that we have tried our best for you. I know, for me at least, I have attempted many, many restores only not to post as I'm not satisfied with the result. Its very disappointing especially for those of us still  with our  "L" plates on.

jc
Please acknowledge when a restorer works on your photos, it can take hours for them to work their magic

Please scan at 300dpi minimum to help save the restorers eyesight.

As one of your appreciative 'clients' I'd like to offer a suggestion.  Would it be more obvious and helpful if a heading re scanning were typed in BOLD CAPS and maybe even underlined or in different colour, as the last item of 'stickies'?

Don't mind at all, all suggestions welcome.   ;D.  I presume you mean at the bottom of individual profiles as I have done...I'll give it a try.  I used caps hoping it would stand out but not sure if you can format.  Stay tuned.  ;D

Hi Caz,

I was thinking of making it an eye-catching notice as the last in the list of tutorials and maintained there.
