Hi guys,

Where are the databases for Immigrants to Australia in the early years of the twentieth century held? Is there one database or does one have to know the State where the immigrants settled? I've found plenty of online information for the nineteenth century but not much for the twentieth century.

I've found a link to a National Archives of Australia page headed "Records about people who've come to Australia" www.naa.gov.au/collection/explore/migration/index.aspx  These  records focus on people whose migration was controlled or administered by the Australian Government since 1901

These include ....

1. The National Archives "Making Australia Home" Project
2. Personal Dossiers of more than 170,000 displaced persons 1947 to 1953
3. Search for Migration Records. http://naa12.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/SearchScreens/BasicSearch.aspx
